So, the holiday is around the corner and the stress is increasing, what to get for presents, who to invite, which places to visit, and oh-so-important Christmas tree. No Christmas is complete without some captivating and mesmerizing trees that give the whole vibe to the occasion.

But!

Buying a new tree every year is not an affordable and sustainable option as the used trees go to the trash and some kept laying around for the whole next year until it is time to buy a new one. So, non-environmental and costs a lot of money. It is not manageable to get a new tree every year along with all the other stuff such as gifts and planning get together etc.
There is nothing that cannot be done if there is someone to guide you through. How about making something unconventional and unique that not only is attractive but affordable.
It is time to take out all the printed cardboard boxes that have been resting in the attic for a long time.

Yes!

Custom cardboard boxes are unique, high-end, and strong that make the best DIY Christmas tree that not only will give a completely new look to your lounge but it can also be folded, stored, and reused next year. The Internet is a very pleasing thing; there are a lot of printable templates with instructions to make a tree for Christmas.
Well, if you are a young couple living in an apartment, a big family with a lot of kids, or even if you are looking for something unique for your office, here is your guide to mesmerize your audience.

Supplies:

The most amazing benefit of cardboard is that they are flexible and can be moulded into any shape and are light in weight which makes them easy to handle. These boxes can be decorated with paints, fabric, and other embellishments very feasibly.
The things you will need are;
  • Cardboard (corrugated cardboard is stronger and more preferable)
  • Paper cutter
  • Large scale
  • Thumb pins
  • Hot glue gun

Process

So, this a pyramid Christmas tree that you can light up with some lights to make it stand out among the regular ones.

1. Mark the Lines

Take flat and neat cardboard of the size you want your tree to be. Take three cardboard sheets and mark a triangle of the equal size on all three sheets, which will make one pyramid.
Mark the sheets for the number of pyramids that go on top of the base pyramid. It is important to note that the base pyramid will be smaller than the one that will on it to give it a more tree look.
Every pyramid must be 2 or more inches smaller than the lower one.

2. Cut

Cut the lines with a sharp paper cutter. It is important to use the sharpest cutter you find to get the most accurate and neat edges.

3. Crease

Mark 1 ½ inch lines around the edges of the upper two sides of a triangle and 2 inches for the lower horizontal side. Crease the marked edges with the help of a scale.
It goes the same for all of the three pyramids (you can make more according to the height of your tree)

4. Fold

Fold the creased lines that you made around the edges of your cardboard triangle shapes.

5. Glue

It is time to get the pieces together to give it a shape. Take the hot glue gun and apply a generous amount on the folded edges and glue it to the other pieces in a way that makes a pyramid-like box.
Press the edges tightly not to leaves any gaps between the edges.
Repeat steps 1 to 5 for other pyramids!

6. Pile & Pin

Once you are done with the pyramid boxes, start piling them on one another. Pin with the help of thumb pins. The structure of these boxes is designed in a way that offers a feasible adjustment on top of one another.
Pins are just to make it more secure.
Voila! Your cardboard Christmas tree is ready to be decorated and display.

To spice things up you can add lights outside or better inside of your Christmas tree made of Cardboard Boxes. To add lights inside make cut-outs in the shape of stars or other Christmas-y patterns on the box before applying glue and add led lights in the colour of your choice. Be creative and imaginative when it comes to decorating your tree.
Happy Christmas!
